Nucor Bar Mill Group, a subsidiary of U.S. steel producer Nucor, announced last week a price increase for its structural steel products. Kallanish reported this, citing a letter from the company to its customers.
The report stated that the price increases for channel steel, angle steel, and steel strip ranged from $40 to $60 per short ton.
This price increase applies to new orders received after March 25. Orders confirmed before the close of business that day will still be eligible for the original price, provided they are shipped before April 8. Nucor Bar Mill Group's announcement noted that the company reserves the right to review and revise quotations for any orders not approved by Nucor or agreed to in writing by both parties.
It is worth noting that on March 23, Nucor again raised its consumer spot price (CSP) for hot-rolled coils by $10 per short ton from the previous week, with the new price at $1025 per ton.
Last week, Galdau Long Products North America announced price increases for certain bar products. The price hikes apply to specific grades of angle steel, channel steel, and strip steel. Prices will increase by $40/ton and $60/ton, respectively, depending on the product type. The new prices apply to all new orders. The company reserves the right to adjust its pricing policy as needed.
